Research
One of the biggest benefits of being an honors student at a Tier I research institution is the ability to participate in the innovate research happening daily.
Honors students contribute directly to this research by joining existing projects and even undertaking their own. From the very first year, you can conduct a self-directed research experience through participation in a First Year Project. In addition, Spirit of Inquiry Research Grants give you the opportunity to support research during the summer.
You may also tap into the myriad of research projects happening across departments and colleges on campus. It is common for faculty members to reach out to the Honors College for talent because they are eager to have honors students as research assistants.
“If I was not in the Honors College, I would most likely not be doing research in my second semester of college.”
