Lysette Davi is the Coordinator for Student Engagement, primarily serving four areas: civic engagement, study abroad, and service trips. Lysette is responsible for fostering a partnership between the Honors College, the Tucson community and the University of Arizona through programming and initiating engagement opportunities for students and partners. As Coordinator, she aims to be a resource to students and create a positive inclusive environment to learn through hands-on experiences.
Lysette teaches HRS 214: Ideas Into Action: An Introduction to Civic Engagement, where students partner with community organizations to challenge ideas of community, identity and citizenship. She also directs the Honors Alternative Spring Break trips which focus on student development through gaining a deeper sense of understanding, empathy and compassion of community by serving on week long service trips during Spring Break.
Lysette serves as our point person for the Honors Trips and Honors Advanced Trips through the Honors College Study Abroad Program.
Lysette is originally from Sacramento, California. She earned her BA in Political Science from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., and her MA in Higher Education from The University of Arizona. She served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a teacher of English. She is currently working on her doctorate in Higher Education. Her research focuses on internationalization and transnational education models.
