Danielle Barefoot is the Assistant Director for the Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships. Although this office is housed in the Honors College, Danielle works with all University of Arizona undergraduate, graduate, and alumni students. As a first generation student, Danielle understands how daunting it may seem to locate and apply to external scholarships. She is passionate about mentoring students in their pursuit of myriad opportunities available.
Danielle is a Ph.D. candidate in History. Her dissertation examines how Chilean university students utilized their socio-political networks to foment change during the Cold War. In 2017, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship (Research/Study) to conduct her dissertation research in Chile. She has received numerous other fellowships to support her undergraduate and graduate studies and research.
Danielle hails from High Shoals, Georgia, a small town outside of Athens. She is an Honors alumna of Georgia Southern University, where she earned her BA in History and Modern Languages (Spanish).
