Big Ideas, Grand Challenges Series

This fall, the Honors College launched its Big Ideas, Grand Challenges Series. This series is designed to engage students, faculty, and staff in the Honors College, the Arizona campus, and our community in dialogue about important topics that affect us all. From immigration to health, and from artificial intelligence to sustainability, each event in the Series features a moderator and three experts who approach the topic from a range of perspectives.

Our first panel discussion was held in September with nationally-recognized experts on the topic of immigration, with over 400 registrants. To view the recorded discussion and learn more about the panelists, please visit: https://honors.arizona.edu/big-ideas-grand-challenges-immigration

The next discussion is on Wednesday, October 21 on the topic of health. For more information (and for the full 2020-2021 schedule), please visit this link. Registration is currently open!

Contact Dr. Karna Walter, Honors College Assistant Dean for Student Engagement with any questions.

Honors Now: LIVE Speakers Series

The Honors College is excited to announce the new Honors Now: LIVE Speakers Series. This virtual speaker event has been created to bring together our vibrant community of Honors alumni and donors.

These events feature the cutting-edge research of Honors faculty and alumni, in either a large-scale, informative “lecture in your living room” presentation or a smaller, more intimate “conversations from the couch” salon-style gathering.

We launched our first webinar in August titled Recent Research Resolves Easter Island’s Greatest Mysteries with Dean Terry Hunt. To view a recording of his presentation as well as a schedule of future presentations, please visit: Honors Now: LIVE Speakers Series
