The University of Arizona Honors Colleges announces a progressive new scholarship program to support the fall, 2019 launch of the Honors Village. Directly north of Speedway Boulevard and part of the new North District, the Village brings together students, faculty and staff in a energized setting that many universities would like to emulate.

According to Honors College Dean Terry Hunt, this commitment reinforces the belief in the power of proximity to effect how we learn, live and develop a sense of purpose even early in the undergraduate experience.

“Need-based for those ready to join the vibrant Honors Village community, 40 scholarships total $100,000 for fall, 2019. This funding is about access, active participation and the power of a shared undergrad living experience.”

The Honors Village will provide housing for over 1,050 Honors College students, and features technology-enabled classrooms, faculty and staff offices along with an integrated dining facility. Healthy dining options are matched by a new campus recreation facility directly across a pedestrian commons.

To be eligible for the award, students must:

  • Be an incoming or current Honors student
  • Live in the Honors Village for the 2019-2020 academic year.
  • Complete the scholarship application by March 1, 2019

Students will be notified of their scholarship status by March 29, 2019.

Applications will be available on the Honors College website beginning mid-January, 2019.
